Making the Sun Prairie Public Library the best it can be.

Since its establishment in 1999, the Sun Prairie Public Library Foundation has worked hard to raise endowment funds to help the library to be the best it can be.

Spring Gala

The Spring Gala is one of the library foundation’s premier fundraising events. It is an evening filled with wine, beer, music, food from local restaurants, and a variety of silent auction items.  If you have never had the opportunity to experience our library after hours, this is your opportunity.  Planning for our 2019 Gala is already underway!  Save the date:  Saturday, April 27th.

Tickets for the next Gala will be available soon!

Menu from the 2018 Gala – decidedly delicious!

Annual Appeal

The Foundation’s 2018 Annual Appeal raised over $56,000!

Once a year the Foundation reports on how Foundation funds have been used to enhance the library and to report on how the Endowment funds are growing.  The Annual Appeal gives supporters an snap-shot of the previous year’s fundraising activities as well as providing the opportunity to support the Foundation with a year-end donation.

The 2018 Annual Appeal raised over $56,000 thanks to a year-end anonymous donation of $50,000 boosting our endowment to over $650,000!

Would you like to support our mission to make our library the best it can be?  No need to wait until our next Annual Appeal at the end of the year; your support is welcomed year round.

Book’n It Run

The Book’n It Run for Literacy is held each year on the first Saturday in August at Sheehan Park in Sun Prairie.  This family-friendly, community event consists of four runs and a walk.  Organized by the Sun Prairie Public Library Foundation, all money raised goes to sponsor many of the enhancements that make the Sun Prairie Public Library so incredible, like the digital book collection and many other learning tools for all ages.

The 15th annual Book’n It Run for Literacy was held on Saturday, August 4th. 2018 in Sheehan Park.  It was a grand success.  Over $34,000 was raised through sponsorships, donations, and race entry fees.  Additionally, one thousand dollars was raised for firefighter, Ryan Welch, who was injured in the July 10th gas explosion in Sun Prairie.  We were honored to have Ryan start the race.
