The route begins near the Public Library at Sheehan Park in Sun Prairie. The run has evolved from just a run on pavement, to a cross country run and then to the current road race, which finishes in Sheehan Park.
Kids’ 100 Meter Dash and Mascot Race
In 2008, a race for children age 10 and under was added to the Book’n It Run event. The Kids’ 100 Meter Dash has increased in popularity, so we are making it bigger and better than ever! We are hoping to add more characters to our mascot race which has included our very own star, “Booker” (AKA the Book’n It Guy), Prairie Athletic Club’s “Splash,” Culver’s “Scoopie,” Madison Mallard’s “Maynard G. Mallard,” and Sun Prairie High School’s “Curt the Cardinal,” to name just a few.
Chip timing was added in 2012 to provide runners with accurate and real-time race results! The chip timing feedback we received from runners was all very positive, so chip timing is here to stay!
1 Mile Fun Run
The 1 Mile Fun Run was added in 2013. We are bringing it back again this year by popular demand! This run is for kids and adults of all ages and is a fun way to get the whole family out for some exercise. You can even walk the course if you wish. Strollers welcome!
We started offering the option to run the 5K and 10K races as part of a team in 2016! Grab five or more friends, co-workers, or family members and register as a team and you will receive a discount on your entry fees. Don’t forget to make some fun t-shirts that show your team spirit!
16th Annual Book’n It Run!
